Of the pending free agent WR's for the Packers, we'll toss in Randall Cobb too, Allen Lazard is the most valuable. He's a first down threat and invaluable run blocking WR. Regardless of who is QB, this guy helps make the offense go. Who is his agent?

Lazard is also an RFA, while MVS is an UFA (restricted versus unrestricted) meaning Lazard will be cheaper.

That being said, I think a deep threat seriously helps this offense and takes some pressure off the underneath routes which can seriously help everyone else. Now Rodgers and MVS connection has struggled for different reasons over the years, but I think a good deep threat with a good QB connection can be more valuable than Lazard. But yes Lazard blocking is under rated and very helpful.

To me, both he and Lazard should be signed . They know the playbook. To put newbie WRs in their spots would kill a lot of the reasons for signing Rodgers to come back. He would have to learn to trust that new WRs that they could learn to play in the NFL level. We don't have that kind of time at this point.
Get the O-line strong, so Aaron Rodgers has time, and get the offense rolling.

Maybe Allen Robinson (eek huge contract probably)? Maybe D.J. Chark? Maybe Jamison Crowder? Maybe Sammy Watkins ? We have to find that deep threat to stretch the field. Teams aren't afraid of 83.

Cardinals got two WR's that could be available. Christian Kirk and Andy Isabella.

Actually, I think he needs to put on 20lbs. and be TE Alan Lazard.

As I'm not fully sure if MVS fits that description or not, based on what Packers were saying of MVS, he finally figured it out in 2021, but then due the OL situation, we didn't really get to see it.

As of last year, Adams was both out #1 and our #2 WR, then I felt like RBs we're #3a and everyone else was #3b.

Packers 2021 receiving yards per game
• 97.69 Adams
  • 41.41 RBs (Combination of Jones and Dillon over 17 games, or 44.48 if you don't count Jones missed games against them, but Dillon was there so I can argue in this method you should count them against them as a group unit).
  • 39.09 MVS
  • 34.2 Lazard
  • 31.25 Cobb (note slow start as he learned a new system got up to 35.22 if you look at his post break out game)
  • 26.07 Jones by himself, note only 15 games which is while the combined about doesn't work out directly if you just try to add these two numbers.
  • 25.5 Tonyan (note, they were asking him to block more this season, not fully trusting the OL)

  • 18.41 Dillon
  • 15.31 Dugara
  • 12.59 Lewis
  •
But some that have seen Lazard up close in person have said absolutely no chance without giving more reasoning as to why.

Vic from Packers.com former Ask Vic section actually went into more detail once, I forget what he said exactly, but after taking what he said the general thought process was that Lazard bone structure might not be built for added weight, and some have noted his hips are EXTREMELY thin, meaning you might not be able to put good weight on him, an additional weight might just be bad weight and not helpful at all.

Also randomly found this, thought it might be interesting, I wish it had a date on it, but must be fairly recent (since 2020)
