This COVID-19 is pretty wicked with how it hits someone hard and others barely notice. Shortly after Christmas it seemed like everyone was having symptoms and then testing positive. My youngest and her mother tested positive just after the new year and quarantined. That following Sunday I got this wicked headache from my temples. Monday I woke up with no strength or energy at all and throat was a little sore. I figured it was because I didn't really get much sleep the night before. Tuesday I was basically back to normal. My daughter Keiana said I should get tested, even though I was feeling fine. She said something about that if ever have to see a doctor an they ask if I had COVID-19, it'd be good to be able to tell them a definitive answer. So, I scheduled a test and it came back positive.

The strange thing is what I felt Monday is something that happens once every couple years. Those around me who also tested positive have had crazy wicked symptoms and it's lasted better part of two weeks. Scarlett (my youngest) and I basically had what feels like the 24 hour flu bug.

I suppose my point is -- this is crazy how the same virus can put some in bed for weeks and others return to normal in about 24 hours. I feel bad for those who have had to deal with my "Monday" for days and weeks, etc.

Hi Kevin! I’m glad you are okay, after the covid scare.

As you can see, I’m here. I never stopped caring and loving you. And my “Packer family” on this site.
I’ve been going through quite a bit. I was going to try to visit a cousin of mine, who I had not seen in several years. He and I were very close growing up.
My plan was to go on a surprise visit.
I went to look up his address, only to find his obituary. Really hit me bad.
LJ says hi, and that she loves you. She’s been my protector through all this.
I had her put boundaries for me.

As for your cousin, I'm very sorry to hear that. I've experienced something similar with two family friends. It can really hit you hard and question things you shouldn't probably question.

I love you, Alan and I love you Laurie Jean. I understand the boundaries thing, but Alan, trust me on this, when someone cares about you, never push them away, never. It's a lonely place when you have no one. So, let people care. People here care about you and I think that is a good thing.

Thank you Kevin.
My cousin Bobby was there for me when my Dad died in 1974.
He sat with me and cried with me.
He was at my Ozaukee Idol win, and I can hear him yell my name at the end (on YouTube).
He was a year younger then me, and I always thought I would go first. He was the kind of person that would give and never ask for anything in return.
He was the last family that had a tender heart.

So much to comment on here.
1. Kev I am glad you had a mild case. That's how it works for some people. But then that's how it works for so many illnesses. In the 90s when the kids would bring home a sickness from school. It hit Rhonda hard and I might get a scratchy throat at worst. If I drug it home maybe I blew my nose for a couple of days and Rhonda would be down for a week. (I think she was faking it so I would cook dinner and do the dishes. She hates it when I do the laundry but that's another story.)

2. ALAN! I have missed you. Even though she rarely posts, I miss LJ. I can't not tell you how hard it was for me. I thought about texting you and telling you to get your butt back here but I refrained. I always felt you would drop by for a cup of coffee. Then again I dropped out to reboot for a full year so I can't tell you what to do.

3. I am very sorry for your loss. Every one in a while I find out someone close to me is gone and I think about how I should have went to see him/her sooner. Finally I had to admit it works both ways. They could have called me. It's life. We get so focused on what we are doing it difficult to change.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
