+ me as being glad to see that Woody's going to recruit for us -- he's the perfect guy to do it, as well. He wasn't thrilled to be coming to GB, but he's grown to love the fans and the place, and he can point out things like how the magnifying glass isn't quite so close in GB.

He's not happy with his coach, but he's going to recruit for us.

Does he think Sanders will be gone?

Does he think he will be gone?

Is he not unhappy with his coach?

These are not opinions, these are things that come to mind.

I love the concept of him doing some recruiting action in Hawaii. He has instant credibility in large part because he has made those statements as to his initial reaction to the idea of coming to GB. What a concept...the man admitted he was wrong... probably a concussion, lol

If Woodson and other players hated Thompson as much as some of the fanatics like to think, would he be talking about recruiting at the Pro Bowl? Of course not -- he'd be doing whatever he could to undermine Thompson.

One of the last legs of support for anti-Thompson bigotry has just been kicked out from under the stool.

I think as long as Thompson allows his plan to evolve and doesn't get distracted by the miserable morons masquerading as Packers fans, we'll be fine.

Ted Thompson 32 -34 through 4 years as GM, yes mediocracy has returned to Green Bay, and Ted "The Genius" Thompson, continues his quest.

By the way MPF, exactly when did I become a "Moron", was it when I decided that playing :500 football really shouldn't be acceptable in Green Bay?

Mike Sherman was 45-24 his first 4 years as GM and he was unmercilbly crucified and ran out of town because he couldn't win "The Big Game" in the play-offs.

I my friend am "A Packer Fan" who has been through the "Lets get younger and rebuild stages of Packer Football", I have lived through the "wow wait till next year" this team has so much potential.

Go back and check the 70's and 80's, to be a Packer fan back then was a verty trying thing.
Ted Thompson has had 4 years, let's give him another 4 or 5, as he keeps The Packers young and full of potential.

I guess I am a moron, but when the inevitable happens, and you" Real Packer Fans" finally turn your back on Ted Thompson and his :500 philosophy, I will be the one sitting back and laughing my a--- off, because you would have wasted too many years "waiting for the next year"

It's easy to draft and keep a "young team full of potential", if the player turns out to be a bust, just replace him with someone younger.

What's hard is building a championship team, and keep it at an elite level.

Something Ron Wolf did, something Mike Sherman did, something Ted Thompson looked like he was on the verge of doing, until his ego got in his way.

Because I am not in "Lock Step" with TT, does not make me 'A Moron", I really do take offense to the term!!!!

Well, if you take away this past offseason I think you'll find that the big sports news guys don't spend as much time on GB and what the players do compared with teams in the larger markets. Additionally, I think there's still some "big man on campus" effect in the area, where folks are a little more willing to let some junk slide given who they're dealing with.

Note, I'm not saying folks in central Wisconsin turn the blind eye to an undue point - I wouldn't know if they do or not. But it's still a sleepy little town by NFL standards.

One small case in point: Barnett's drink-throwing issue or whatever it was. If he was in NY or Dallas or wherever, that would have been turned into a bigger deal than it was in GB.

I just think that for guys like Woodson who don't need the greatest night life in the world (or don't mind traveling a few hours' South to Chicago to get it), GB is a nice quiet place to work. Woody's mentioned it, and so have other guys previously (Ahman Green for one). And those guys aren't as rare as people want to think.

Actually, buckeyepackfan, what's laughable is the way you extrapolate from four turbulent years all the way to two decades.

Is it just me, or are some people exaggerating how "awful" it was to be a Packers fan in the 70s and 80s?

I enjoyed it, personally. Would I have liked more winning? Of course. But I don't recall it being the torture some are making it out to be.

I have always enjoyed being a Packer fan, the constant losing was the "trying part".

Just hoping not to have to re-live those times again.

Personally, I became more of an expert on all things Green Bay Packers. I could pull esoteric stats from the nether regions at a moment's notice. We had an example yesterday...what was it- two 100 yard rushers and two 100 yard runningbacks in the same game...

Yes, I was a veritable warehouse of rationalization and statistical diatribe...hey, wait a sec, I still am.

Winning was appreciated, that's for sure. I enjoyed that when it happened.

It was a different kind of fandom, but yes, you are right, it was not torture, except to all my bar buddies all over this planet that had to listen to my crap.
