You know nothing about football if you call Rodgers a game manager. In his first season as a starter he was the league leader in 40+ yard passes. We threw the ball over 100 times more than we ran the ball. Rodgers threw for 4000 yards. Game managers don't throw for 4000 yards.

They don't know how to win games either, the defenses have to do it for them...which..er...didn't happen this year.

Wasn't that the Ted Thompson and MM model?

Manage games and let the defense keep you in it?

Winning QB's win games.

When you have a running game and O-line like this one though, you don't hve alot of different choices than going to the pass with a QB that can move around. We're lucky we have these amazing receivers that can get open, or Rodgers wouldn't have made it to the end of the season.

Oh, and I agree on getting a great defense, look at the Titans or the Dilfer led Ravens. We need a good defense. If we can get that, combined with this passing game, we're SB contenders imo.

Nope, winning QB's help win games. Winning QB's can do nothing about how crappy their defense plays in close games.

Aaron Rodgers is a game manager. I thought that's what you wanted?

Ah, yes, your screen name is so right. The pack of trolls will always be back.

Your calumny is absurd on its face. I've never stated anywhere that I want a game manager. I want an aggressive quarterback who doesn't make mistakes, and that's exactly what we have in Aaron Rodgers. If you want to see game managers, go to the statistics pages on NFL.com and sort by TD passes -- look in the range of 15 to 25. Those are the game managers, QBs with less than 20 TD passes (many of whom are in the playoffs, by the way).

Aaron Rodgers is the closest thing to the classic pocket passer this crop of QBs has, with the added bonus that he is mobile. I got exactly what I wanted in Aaron Rodgers, and I am positive that my confidence in Rodgers will be fully vindicated in years to come.

And 3rd in touchdown passes

That's the main stat there - production.

3rd in TD passes says a lot. I'm very proud of Aaron and know he will do great in '09.

The problem is not our O, it's our D. Our O scores points. Our D needs to stop allowing so many.
