Me.. my wish.. simple. Address the interior and depth of the offensive line and either commit to a true "zone/cut" scheme or return to the traditional man blocking. If we simply could man up and run the ball effectively late in games we could manage the situations we put ourselves in more effectively.
We have one, maybe two interior lineman that can successfully man up and drive a player off the line. Spitz and maybe Sitton.. the rest either play to tall or can't seem to figure out the dynamics of playing with leverage.. Wells is another player, but he just is undersized and lacks that short area burst to drive off his man.. he is serviceable but not above grade.
Tackles have been discussed in length, they are becoming long in the tooth, but Tausch still is overall pretty effective, Cliffy is showing his lack of agility on fast surfaces.. he can hold up decently on natural surfaces yet.. but we have no depth or solid alternative at this point beyond Colledge.. he himself should be slid over to Tackle and work exclusively at tackle.
So, my wish.. draft one premium physical guard in the draft and add another NFL starter via free agency.. Make a incentive laden 2 year deal with Tausch and draft another mid round tackle with decent feet and size.
If a brute Center shows himself in the draft or FA.. nab him.. then let Wells and player y duke it out for the starting spot..
D-Line needs depth and help, but Jenkins coming back solidifies that spot at DE and DT depth is needed.. a starter might be if Jolly's trial go south.. but I think our Oline problems in the running game consistency trump the Dline problems at this point..
