I'm watching ESPN's "Pardon The Interruption" (PTI) and they were talking about Buffalo Sabres trading star player Jack Eichel to Vegas Golden Knights.
Apparently Eichel has a back injury and Buffalo wanted him to get a back fusion, while Eichel wanted a back replacement.
Anyways, the reason I'm bringing this up, is because according to PTI, the
NHL players union negotiated away a players right to get the medical treatment of their choice and their CBA forbids the player to get medical treatment without the teams permission.
That just blows my mind! Why would you agree to that?
Anyways, sounds like Eichel was going to ignore the CBA and get the surgery he preferred anyways, and Buffalo traded him to Las Vegas, whom presumedly are open to the same surgery as the players wants.
