Hanson is probably the last OL on the 53 man roster. That or Kelly.

I'm assuming they hope Hanson keeps improving and can replace Patrick when Patrick becomes a FA this offseason.

Runyan, Patrick and Newman were competing for starting spots, Hanson is the only interior OL that wasn't completing for a starting spot. (Edited: of those that made the final 53)

Even Braden got a chance to compete for a larger role and Hanson didn't.
