With the current injuries, and if they sign Jaylon Smith, maybe they start running something more like a 4-3? Gary, Keke, Clark, P. Smith on the DL, J. Smith, Campbell, Barnes as LBs.
Or maybe a 3 safety nickel look with Savage playing in the slot? Though I'm not sure who the outside corner is opposite Stokes in either case.

Though they have run a 5-1 with Gary as a pass rushing NT and Burks as an edge rusher. In theory Smith would be an upgrade over Burks, weather you have him at ILB or the part time edge rusher (or maybe Campbell could be the edge rusher with Smith as ILB), either way, in theory better than Burks.
Packers are at 53 right now. Who the hell do they cut to make room for Jaylon Smith? I'm betting they put Jaire on IR.

If release, I'd be looking at the LBers and C Hanson. Of course I didn't think Hanson belonged on the 53 in the first place and I think he's mainly there because others backups can't consistently snap the ball (yet). Though if Patrick is now a backup and he can snap the ball decent, then maybe they're good at backup Center now.
Other LB options include LBers La'Darius Hamilton, McDuffie, Summers, Rivers, Garvin.
Hamilton was signed off another teams PS and based on newer rule, when you sign a guy off another teams PS you must keep them 3 weeks, if that's in terms of 3 games they can release him, if that's in terms of days they have to wait another day.
Summers is currently leading the team in ST snaps... so I don't think they want to lose him, McDuffie is being kept based on potential, but I'm not sure you need 6 ILBers. So somebody better be able to help out the OLBers.
Rivers and Garvin are struggling, but they're on the field because we don't have anyone better, and at times they looked decent against the Steelers OL, but that might say more about the Steelers OL being over matched than them specifically.
But yeah Alexander to IR is probably likely... as I think even a sprain of an AC joint (hoping that's all it is) can take a month to heal. And we already signed a CB...
Though if Alexander does go to the IR, I'm going to be slightly upset we didn't trade for the Patriots CB, and yes we didn't have the cap space, but we didn't for Cobb either and got the Texans to pay for part of his contract.
The Patriots got a 6th rounder in 2023 for the CB... if the Packers offer them a 4th rounder or maybe even a 3rd rounder in 2023 to get the CB and have the Patriots pay his salary we could of got him, plus possible a 3rd or 4th round comp pick in 2023 to replace what we traded away.
