When in doubt, in this day and age of massive contracts and guarantees, I'm of the opinion that it is better to watch other team's players make it, ESPECIALLY if the other team's player doesn't deserve it. I was GLAD when I heard that there was something shaky going on with the fan vote and the Redskins this year. I became even happier when it was rumored to have been prompted by the Redskins front office itself, and possibly by boy wonder Dan Snyder himself.
I hope every single Cowboy makes the probowl, along with everyone else that plays on a team in danger of hitting the cap limit. Does anyone think that any agent would ignore the fact that his client is a pro bowl player when it comes time to get paid?
I would LOVE the thought of boy wonder saying to himself..."What the Fu#k was I THINKING when I came up with the bright idea to manipulate the pro bowl selection?" This, just after yet another of his players came in with yet another outrageous contract demand, citing their selection to the pro bowl as at least part of the rationale for their demands.
Bottom line... There IS a benefit to Greg Jennings not making the pro bowl. I don't think we need to be overly concerned about him not getting proper recognition, and I suspect neither he or his agent are overly concerned about it either, other than the fact it might have cost him a million or two or ten or whatever in guaranteed money.
When it is no longer debatable, THAT is when I want Packers in the pro bowl, as they are going to get paid anyway.
