The Packers need to upgrade their CBs, I've been saying since before last year's FA...
I think the Packers are going to trade up in the 1st round for a CB.
As for Richard Sherman, he should of been signed well before now, if he wasn't pricing himself out of the market, and considering the market has gone down a bit, he's a bit older and I believe he's his own agent, and his agent might not be very good at evaluating/caring about the market.
Lots of teams need CBs, lots of defensive coaches with connections to Sherman, he's a bit limited in that he doesn't fit every style of defense, but cover 3 is his thing and that's one of the more used coverages used right now.
Richard Sherman has made a comment about teams being too interested in the draft guys and he's going to wait until after some teams strike out in the draft and then sign... And I think he believes it could make his market hotter, but honestly it's probably going to make it colder as teams will have drafted CBs by then.
Unless he's got a hand shake agreement, so wait until after the Comp pick period for calculations (Monday after the draft usually), then he's hurting his value.
I'm not sure Sherman is gonna be happy with his contract this coming season and a happy Sherman can bother some in management (if not locker room too), an unhappy Sherman might be much worse.
But sure, if he fits what we're doing and we can fit his ego in the locker room then sure.... also, another issue is that he's always played the LCB role, which goes to the better CB and has been generally filled by Alexander. Both their egos will want that spot... and will be insulted to be at RCB... though you might be able to talk Alexander into slot role. But then who goes to RCB when you only have two CBs on the field?
