So I think we all know that there's some soft rigging in the NFL. They don't completely script games like the NBA, but they can sway the outcome one way or the other when things are already in motion.
In our last SuperBowl, Aaron was the fresh new exciting face. Said and did all the right things. Played at a high level. Meanwhile, Ben Roethlisberger was coming off yet another sexual impropriety accusation. Both teams had a high merchandising potential. So Aaron's team got the nod.
So as far as narratives go, you got Arron and you got Mahomes. Mahomes just won it last year. He's young, will get more chances. Meanwhile, Aaron's getting to the end of the line. Needs another SB win to cement his legacy, maximize his merchandizing potential.
Then again, you also got Drew Brees. It's his last chance this year, arguably has been robbed a couple times in the past. Might be an argument for him there too.
I think Aaron is the best narrative personally, I might be biased tho.
“Winning is not a sometime thing, it is an all the time thing. You don't do things right once in a while…you do them right all the time.”
