It's rare for a DT to do much as a rookie, so I'm not surprised that Keke did very little as a rookie (more surprised when Lancaster actually helped as a rookie, but he's more the exception to the rule and he seems to have a high floor but a lot ceiling, meaning he's not getting much better).
But in college Keke was surprisingly slippery for OL to stay on block, he just kept moving and using good technic and got the OL off of him... if he can improve his run defense and keep up what he did in college, he has the potential to be our second best DT by season end, though it might take another year too.
And I expect that of the OLBers are healthy, Z and/or Gary could be eating into the DTs pass rush snaps as well.
Also, when they used 3 DT base, I was quite surprised when they opened with Adams as one of the top three, after he has seemed to disappoint. But someone pointed out that Adams has done this the last two years as well, and then disappeared. Though coaches said something about how Adams always gives great effort, they just have to make sure he knows his assignments (which sorta suggested in the past he hasn't, or he struggles when ask to read and react to the play).
