His last playing season was one of his better seasons.
He wanted starters money, then he had no takers and said he just wanted an opportunity. If any team offered him minimum wage and he turned it down, that would of been all over the NFL news, that he choose not to play.
But you also complained about the NFL 'pandering to “political correctness”', which they surely did when no team choose not to sign Kapernick, despite him clearly being among the top 50 QBs if not top 32. But you complain about the political pandering then? Or are you just complaining about it now, because this pandering doesn't agree with your personal stance?
Either the NFL's political pandering to both sides is should be; both acceptable, both unacceptable, or someone is biased.
And honestly I don't know how to feel, because 1) They shouldn't be in politics 2) They got sucked in, and almost had to do something.
So I guess I'm okay with the pandering, as really they're just trying to get the hell out of the way. They're not purposely trying to make a statement one way or the other, and the NFL is learning what the NBA already learned, it's just easier to go with the players than against them.
PS: I'm still like, what was Favre thinking with that comparison.... and I think I finally figured it out. Maybe Brett is solely talking about the fame and no longer playing the game aspects? Which the comparison, in that limited scope, makes sense.
But still, to me, a guy giving up the game and money and risking his life isn't the same as a guy just risking his career.
