The difference being that, despite being the No. 6 seed, Green Bay arguably had an easier road to the Super Bowl that year. Certainly there was no comparison between the teams they faced in the conference championship. The Bears were fielding their third-string quarterback by the end of that game.

This whipping lands totally on the defense. When you HAVE to have a stop, and they fail every time, something is seriously wrong.
300 yards rushing? Your QB doesn’t even have to THINK about throwing a pass?
That’s a 100% fail. They should be ashamed of their performance.
You are in the NFC championship game, and you can’t tackle?

I know a lot of people will be disappointed by the loss and I'm sure we're minutes away from calls for coaches to be fired, a new QB to be drafted, and all manner of gloom and doom. But fuck that nonsense. After a missing the playoffs two years straight and a stale, predictable system, this year was a real pleasure to watch. With a bunch of good, young players on the roster, the future looks bright. Bring on FA, the draft, and let's see how next year unfolds.

The same thing that stops our season EVERY TIME.
A LOUSY DEFENSE.
I’m tired of it. Other teams can stack a defense, why can’t we?
Had we had an at least DECENT defense, we would have had a chance. Their QB didn’t have to do ANYTHING but hand off the ball!
If Rodgers had to only do that, we would have won.

We took a huge step in the right direction. We're plugging holes with free agents. Must keep that going.

How many years has our defense been the main reason our season ended?
It’s just frustrating. I thought we had at least a decent defense this year. But stopping the run has been terrible this year.
What good is a pass rush if the other team only passes a half dozen times, and they run the ball down their throats?
I’m just frustrated.

The 2009 defense had some really good players on it.
We don’t have a Collins or Woodson, or Raji on our roster. Even Matthews was excellent at that time.
How can our huge holes be filled this off season?
Gute better shop and buy some A+ talent on defense. And HOPE that our WRs can make a HUGE leap next year.

I feel Savage is pretty damn good, no not Nick Collins great, but pretty damn good. I couldn't help notice he was someone who was consistently making tackles and hitting hard last night.

Charles Woodson
Jaire Alexander is pretty good and should take a healthy jump. The skill is there, but he is not the LEADER that Woodson was.

BJ Raji
I'll take Kenny Clark over BJ Raji every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

If our offense would have held ground, we could have made the 49ers pass more than 8 times and that's how you beat the 49ers. If we get two starters in this upcoming draft and some depth plugged in via free agents, we are going to impress people. I know it's hard to see it with how the 49ers smacked us around twice with the same approach; this team is closer than some are giving credit. And the team is is not down about this loss. Hell, Rodgers said the ending sucks, but he is excited because he's having fun again.

Remember, it's not how many times you fall down, it's whether you get back up. This team will get back up. Hell, this was Matt LaFleur's first year as a coach and he got 13 wins in the regular season which is the same we had the two seasons prior, combined.
