Looks like on paper this one can be chalked up as a loss.
But both teams have to play the game and the game on the field can be much different than the stats on paper might indicate.
I like the Packers 37-31.

One thing that keeps getting overlooked is who has SF played? Seattle and the Rams are the only two teams with winning records. They lost to Seattle. Green Bay has beaten Minnesota, Dallas, Oakland and KC.

1 San Francisco 49ers SOS .382 SOV .337
2 Green Bay Packers SOS .500 SOV .518

Granted teams with winning records tend to have lower SOV by the very nature of winning all the time but not Green Bay. They have the highest SOS and SOV of the playoff teams. #8 Phillie has a higher SOS at .520. Only #13 Atlanta has a higher SOV at .600.

Green Bay wins on their second try on the Left Coast.

I'm going with 49ers in this one. 49ers are 3rd and Packers are 8th in the Zero Rankings. I think that is going to hold true.

49ers strengths are the Packers weaknesses.

If the Packers are leading at half time, they will win the game.

Packers 17
49ers 35

SF 5-3? I know, must be a misprint.

Anyway, I think Zero is right on this one. Although I HOPE he’s wrong.

Stats don't tell all by any means. SF is 2nd in rushing offense because they run the ball the second most of any team. They average a very average 4.3 yards per carry to the Packers 4.2. In 10 games each SF has run the ball 109 more times yet only have the same number of rushing TD's (13). I also see where they are 2nd in points allowed at 15.5 but in the last 3 they have allowed 26 ppg. So I'm not ready to take all these stats and go run and hide in my room. The more we can score the less they can just hand the ball off.

It's a week to week league. The Packers are rested and healthier than SF and when it gets to this time of year these non-statistical factors are huge. You don't think the Smith's won't be recharged and ready to get after Jimmy G? He's looked pretty darn shaky under pressure. There comes a time in the season when teams can look back later and say "that's when we turned the corner." Everything is aligned for that time to be now.

Teans to root for this week.

THE EAGLES vs Seahawks
THE PATRIOTS vs Cowboys
THE PANTHERS @ The Saints
.
Packers coming off their bye, everybody healthy!

Not going to Frisco till Saturday.
I guess Lefleur learned from the San Diego trip.

49r's are tough but they are vulnerable.

I expect The Packers to show a few unscouted looks.
Coaches have had 2 weeks to finalize their game plan.

This game will be won in the trenches.

Packers win time of possession and the turnover battle and they will be on top at the end.

Aaron Rodgers throws for 225yds and 2 Td's.
Jones and Williams combine for 150yds on the ground another 75 through the air .

Defense gets 2 interceptions.

Packers 31
49r's 30

BOOK IT!

Zero2Cool (17h) : It'd be a wise move.
beast (17-Jan) : I think Jets are just killing time, and picking up information as they wait for their guy to get done with the playoffs.
Zero2Cool (16-Jan) : Brewers icon & Baseball Hall of Famer Bob Uecker passed away today at the age of 90
Zero2Cool (16-Jan) : Jets wanna interview Jeff Hafley for their HC spot. W. T. F.

beast (15-Jan) : Cover 2, keep a CB and Safety over top of both WRs... and Hurts (like Rodgers) is overly careful and doesn't like any risk in his throws.
joepacker (15-Jan) : new to this maybe question n wrong place?
joepacker (15-Jan) : how did the packers mostly shut down the eagles passin attack and specifically how did they manage such a good job on aj brown?

beast (15-Jan) : Apparently because players aren't doing the small things when the coaches tell them, and LaFleur believes they're more likely

Zero2Cool (15-Jan) : I'm not sure it ever bodes well when you have to tell your team leader to be more vocal.

Mucky Tundra (14-Jan) : Anyone else abhor MNF wildcard games?
Martha Careful (14-Jan) : Why is it that the Rams rookies can contribute right away but our first and second year guys are too young to contribute in a meaningful way
Martha Careful (14-Jan) : Yes, Saquon Barkley had a very nice game. But he has a much better offensive line in front of him. I'll take Josh Jacob's. I love the guy

Martha Careful (11-Jan) : Two terrific NCAA Football Semi-Final Games...We can only hope the Championship game is as good
Zero2Cool (10-Jan) : Eagles WR DeVonta Smith will be a DNP in today’s practice. He’s dealing with back tightness. But the expectation is that he’ll play Sunday.
