I was wondering about Burks and Boltons injuries and when they might be back. I'm still surprised they decided to send Bolton to the waived/injured list, instead of the IR list (even the pre-season IR list, where he had no chance to come back this year (and therefore didn't need to be on the 53), but maybe we'd see him back next training camp).

Some rumors suggested that they waived him so he could come back later on in the season, without taking up a 53 man roster spot, but if he had an ACL injury, I think that proves the rumor wrong, as he's probably not gonna be able to come back from an ACL injury in less than 9 months.

Technically, yes they're on our IR, but really they waived (cut) OT Jason Spriggs, LB Curtis Bolton and FB Malcolm Johnson with an injury designation... meaning they'll be FAs once the season is up, or sooner if they and the team agree to an injury settlement, which would free up both sides some. In other words, they're technically on the roster to be officially be released later non-list.

But in Bolton's case, with a season ending injury, he's agent will probably just take the year's pay and stay technically on the roster, and be officially released in the offseason.
