The question comes from this tweet. What do you think?

Because the whole focus is on, what Gute is looking for within the draft (and largely focusing on his edge selections), well Mike Daniels isn't in the draft (and he's not an edge player).
The much more important question is how does he fit Pettine's system and while Daniels is a bit limited in his verstility, when fully healthy he's still one hell of a 3 tech, one gapper on the outside of the OG. And Pettine has talked about how Daniels / Clark's different styles have given oppents trouble, you might be good at stopping one style but not the other.
I honestly am not sure whom is the Packers 2nd best 3 tech is... Lowry? Clark with Lancaster at NT? ... Adams has the physical potential, but as of last year he hadn't put it together (yet).
But get rid of the guy, a different maker because he doesn't fit the high potential traits that your looking for in the draft is stupid... should we get rid of Rodgers cus he's not 6'4"+? No, he's a darn good player.
That being said, there is a case to be made to trade of Daniels
IF - you don't plan resigning him,
- you don't plan on making a deep run in the playoffs
- you don't expect to get comp picks, as you expect be active in FA
- you want to free up or save his contact money
But The Packers reportedly don't have the free cap space to go big in next year's FA, and so they could be in play for Comp and I'm not sure if Daniels saved cap space will make a big difference in that.
And I think the Packers like the idea of trying to make a deep playoff run.
I think Daniels is sticking around this year.
