Let's say we win out ...

Green Bay Packers ( 5 - 8 ) [8 - 8]
[ul]L - Houston at Green Bay
W - Green Bay at Jacksonville
W - Green Bay at Chicago
W - Detroit at Green Bay[/ul]
Division 5 - 1

Minnesota Vikings ( 7 - 5 ) [9 - 7]

Division 3 - 3

* Giants will have homefield wrapped up and will rest playerse while Vikings will be fighting for division title

TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION

[ul]1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in common games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
12. Coin toss[/ul]

Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of the two-club format).

[ul]1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs).

During the off season I had us 7 - 5 and going 3 - 1 in these last four games. I still say the best we do is 3 - 1 through these last four games. Obviously, that just won't be enough.

So... We need to win out.
Vikings lose out.
Bears lose two out of three and one of them two must be against us.

Yeah... so where do think the Packers will be golfing after Week 17? 🙂

I like sitting in the "ten hole" in the draft, but I will still be yelling at either the TV in the bar or this stupid monitor along with all the other crazy basthaads that inhabit the gameday chat/you know what. The difference this week is that they can no longer break my heart for tyhe rest of the week. They already did that Sunday before last. I've already gone into PPO, given out my congrats to those folks (classy response on their part, btw) and resigned myself to looking for ways to fix this team. (If ONLY they would come to their senses and put ME in charge  )

Bottom line, what happens, happens this year. If the Vikes win the division, I sincerely hope they do well in the playoffs, if it's the Bears, well, I'm not THAT far gone, yet...

I plan to root extra hard for Brett and co... I would sure like our 3rd to become a 2nd or better...

If we are still mathematically alive after this weekend, well, like a wise politician once said, I'm not flip-floppin', I'm merely adjusting my position as a different set of facts unfold. :thumbleft:

Yeah I tell you what being 8-8 into the playoffs... wouldn't that feel a little weird haha. I will wish good luck to whoever wins the division. Should be an interesting year in the post season regardless. This year has been crazy.

I've given up on the playoffs, and am just focusing on what really matters in the NFC North--the total and utter humiliation of the Bears, Vikings, and Lions.

Fortunately, we've got an opportunity to take care of two out of three of these ourselves in these final 3 weeks. For the 3rd, just need the Vikings to collapse like they did in 2004, 6, and 7 and go oh-fer. I liked the odds better before the judge left his injunction in and Williams and Williams will be able to play through the end of the year. But still, they'll either have Tarvaris Jackson or an injured Ferrotte at quarterback--and the Vikings still have Childress as coach...

I try to keep the truly important things in mind at times like these. 🙂

Fact is.......every week now our season is on the line.
It is litterally a MUST WIN here on out, unless BOTH the other teams self destruct.

Allowing over 400 yards passing and over 100 yards rushing is not a good formula for success...

Zero2Cool (3-Jun) : Golden is wearing guardian cap again. I bet he plays with it on too.
Mucky Tundra (3-Jun) : All the stuff I'm reading from Lions fans are pointing at his toe; he more or less has permanent turf toe in one of his big toes
dfosterf (3-Jun) : Kenny played through it, and a shame he gets little credit for that, imo
