Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers continues to be woefully underpaid. And the Packers continue to be seemingly on the verge of fixing that. "We hope to soon have a contract extension,' Packers president Mark Murphy recently said regarding Rodgers, via WTMJ.com. Rodgers surely hopes to have one, too. At $22 million per year, he has been leapfrogged [more]

Give him $25/year with a "highest payed player in the league" bonus IF he wins a superbowl. SB MVP, a little something extra on top of THAT.

I'm on board with seeing how that collar bone has healed before handing out a massive contract extension.

Well, he did play at the end of last season. I believe his collar bone ( with the surgery fix) will actually be stronger then pre injury. The question I have is , will it affect his throwing motion/ability. Or even mentally affect him.
And I always ask.....how much money is ENOUGH?!?!?

Just get the deal done.
Already tired of hearing about it.
The longer The Packers wait, the more it will cost them.
30 mil a year is not going to break the salary cap for the next 3 years
Hell, there will be a new CBA in 3 years, which, if it goes like the last CBA, there will be an uncapped year following the agreement.
That's when Aaron will really be paid or not paid.

Then you have to hit the NEXT guy with a blockbuster. You need something to hold over Aaron’s head to make sure he’s not gonna be going off script all the time. But hitting the open guy isn’t a legit incentive.

I don't see any positives to delaying a new contract, 30+ million is the new benchmark pay up now before it costs even more.

Within a few years, QBs will get 50 million a year, and the rest of the team will have to split the “leftovers”.
Average people won’t even be able to afford to see a game.
It’s getting insane, the money these guys are getting.

There seems to be a new paradigm emerging. The previous paradigm was that of changing the rules to promote the offensive passing game, so the QBs came to the fore. Franchises centered their teams around the QB.

Now there appears to be a paradigm emerging where, the rules of offense have made it so easy that you don't NEED a HoF QB. You can get by with Case Keenum, Kirk Cousins or Nick Foles. Look what happened to the Legion of Boom when they had to pay Russell Wilson. The new question is, wouldn't it be better to keep all those dominant defensive players than it would be to pay that ONE guy?

Especially if the rules have changed so much that you don't need that ONE guy.

I'm probably wrong here but I see Nick Foles as a very good and on the verge of great QB. Eagles didn't just get by with him. They thrived with him. Carson Wentz is a big time player too. Eagles made some good decisions along the way through some years of struggle. Packers fans don't put up with any prolonged moments of struggle so they're less inclined to see that most of these rosters took several years of disappointment and higher draft picks to get there.
Circular Arguments: They are a heck of an annoyance
Fan Shout
Zero2Cool (16h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (20h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (20h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (21h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (21h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (21h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (21h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (21h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (21h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (21h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (21h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (21h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (22h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (22h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
