Packers rookie running back Aaron Jones was apparently getting high even before he got elevated to the starting lineup. According to Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Jones was charged on Oct. 2, just before he made his first start against the Cowboys Oct. 8. Jones was arrested after a traffic stop, during which he admitted [more]

He's a libertarian hero. I like him even better now.

He's no hero. He's an idiot. He works for an employer that will pay him outlandish sums of money, and he goes out and does something stupid that not only jeopardizes his own livelihood, but also potentially screws over his team -- not to mention the millions of fans who expend their time and money to show support for this team. I'm as libertarian as they come, and I'm a passionate advocate of decriminalization across the board, but a hero he is not.

It's very disappointing. Kids just don't seem to get it that when they sign their name on the contract they are going to be held to a higher degree of accountability than their buddies.

He had a DUI at UTEP. This is not good. I'm anti drug to the max. It should be criminalized more than it is. Drugs are the scourge of society. Want it for pain? Take it in pill form via a legit physician. World is filled with way too many dopers destroying the experience of the clean and sober. 33 needs help and has brought dishonor to the "G".

He'll be gone at least a game like Geronimo before him.

Society recognizes that people are not mature enough to sign a legal contract , or be responsible enough to be allowed by law to drink alcoholic beverages . Some mature more quickly physically and not so fast mentally . A young lion of a lad does not fear being caught , until he gets caught . Sometimes learning the hard way is the only way some people learn life's hard lessons .

The theory being that the legit NFL physicians were pushing the pain pill programs... and when they stopped the NFL players turned to other pain relief drugs.

Is pill form really that much better than other forms of the same drug?

If you're anti drugs to the max, then are you against alcohol and caffeine too?
Or did you just mean illegal drugs?

If illegal drugs, then what if said drug became legal (like alcohol did, after being illegal, and weed seems to be slowly moving too).

The person who I knew most against drugs basically said, don't go to doctors, they'll just give you drugs and drugs and greed are the root of all evil... of course they didn't believe in wearing glasses either because it's just a crutch and instead you should eat nothing but carrots until your eyes can see better (and claimed that's what she did and now had 20-20 vision after being told she needed to get glasses).

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
