Just stop!
This is embarrassing
The length you will go, even when you are wrong, just to try and prove yourself right.
Hawk and Bishop played 2 different positions.
PERIOD!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😋😋🤣

Plenty of players all over the league make a name for themselves by getting their chance when the guy in front of them is injured.

I guess old Ted does know something about evaluating talent.

Do you honestly believe I thought Bishop was Hawks replacement? That's fine for you to believe that. I could never stomach AJ Hawk. Guy should've been replaced years before he was while Bishop couldn't see the field. Hawk was a major part of our soft label yet he continued being a starter while a better player in Bishop had to sit. You're making things up as to me saying Bishop replaced Hawk. Believe me. I'm well aware that AJ continued being on the field all those years. Another case of poorer players getting opportunity while better players sat on the bench.

Another one is Linsley vs. Tretter. I liked Tretter better. I think that one was more of a money deal knowing Tretter was going to be hitting FA and thought they could get close to same with Corey while paying late round rookie deal salary.

We just don't play our most talented players. I'm amazed Sam Shields ever got to see the field but I guess when a guy is that fast even our staff couldn't blow it.

Hate to say it, but this just shows the ignorance in the fan base about actual football. Bishop and Hawk DID NOT play the same position. Bishop wasn't sitting behind Hawk he was sitting behind Barnett. the two ILB positions have different jobs and responsibilities. In Dom's defense the back side ILB which was Hawks job was really not to make the plays in most cases. His job was the take on the block in the double A gap blitz. His job was to protect the backside of run plays against a cut back. His job was to take on lead blockers if they were there. Most often his coverage responsibility was the RB coming out of the backfield. Barnett/Bishop as the front side ILB job was to get the QB after Hawk block on the Agap. It was to go after the running play to the strong side and usually cover TE in passing.

Inconsistent, another year sitting behind Hawk AND Barnett.
NOBODY was clamoring for him to get on the field.
When Barnett was injured , he got his shot and made the most of it.
Go reread your own post, you made it seem like Bishop was being wasted playing behind Hawk.
Total bullshit!
Actually Hawk replaced Barnett and Bishop moved into Hawks spot.
I guess YOU would call that be wasted.

Could be wrong on the year but I do remembering it happened because Hawk had never played MLB before

There is nothing in my post that said Bishop replaced Hawk. I know you love Hawk because he was a Buckeye and this is a sore subject for you but, this is where you being a homer and a double homer in this case really clouds your judgment.

You are 100% incorrect in stating that people weren't clamoring for Bishop to get on the field while we were living with Hawk's middling, at best, performance. Hawk was a non impact player. Bishop had to sit there watching Hawk not make big hits, not causing fumbles, not getting interceptions, not getting tackles behind the LOS. Hawk did nothing to impact games but was a darling. Bishop had to sit. Made no sense and it drove people crazy.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/428385-desmond-bishop-continues-push-for-playing-time

Desmond Bishop is once again becoming the Green Bay Packers' August MVP. He has led the team in preseason tackles in two of his first three years in the league and has been the biggest playmaker of camp so far.

Despite past offseason success, Bishop hasn't translated that production into regular season success. The main reason for that being a lack of playing time.

----I didn't have to google to know that Bishop was being stunted by our coaching staff. I don't have to google to know there were many fans who know football that were clamoring for Bishop to get on the field while having to watch a miserable AJ Hawk get to take the field week after week. The fact that they both were ILB's and one got to play and the other sat was maddening. One guy was impact...one guy was not.

I've really gotten sick of people who clearly don't know football. So many times AJ comes from backside makes a tackle 5-10 yards down field, and get criticized for it. he got dragged or was slow getting there. When if they would look at the play, they might realize that AJ never should have been making the tackle tackle in the first place. He had to because 2 or 3 others before him had already screwed up.

Bishop was OK at front side, but he wasn't assignment sure. Everybody remembers when he shot a gap to make a tackle for loss, but they don't remember all the times he tried and miss basically hanging the rest of the team out in the process.
