At a time when everyone agrees there aren't nearly enough quarterbacks to go around, most of the NFL has decided to only bother with two at a time. Couple of thoughts, Callahan and Hill would fit onto a few of those teams. Based on the backups for most teams Kaepernick should be in the NFL too. The questions are at what cost and would he be willing to be a backup.

THing with Kaepernick is he's kind of a one trick pony. You'd have to orient your offense around the pistol. Not many teams can donthat for a backup.

As for our guys, I like Hill better despite his age. Dude runs a 4.4. To me that suggests that when his physical skills start to deteriorate with age, he'll tend to have a longer decline, since he's slowing down from 4.4, not 4.8. Plus he doesn't play like this level is too big for him. Higher ceiling than Callahan. Callahan has been thru the "QB school," so that's his advantage.

Why carry more? Just sign another if the needs arises. Leaves a spot for somebody who will probably actually play.

I wish Hundley had lit it up in pre season. We could've dealt him and then kept Hill.
