I'd asked Mike Spofford to clarify something Buck dug out over at Packers.com that I would've never seen had he not. I asked Mike to clarify what he'd written about the IR designated to return rule.
Not only did Mike apologize calling his answer at Packers.com "a bum steer", Wes Hodkiewicz stepped up and apologized for giving him bad info asking for the blame to be placed upon him.
Of course, I think Packers.com isn't a reputable Packers new source and knowing two of their own were part of the bad info share doesn't help that perception but...
Seeing them both eat it publicly like that was very classy. Mike could've pointed fingers or ignored my question. Wes could've stayed silent and chose not to do so. Both signs of high character guys. I couldn't bring myself to take anything but the high road in reply, as I greatly respect their tweets on follow up.
A good lesson for me, them and everyone to be careful about what you're passing off dogmatically as fact. We all want to be in the know and show well but spending the time to make sure you know what you're talking about is more important. I've been guilty of this as well. Will endeavor to do better. We should all be after the truth.
Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
