I see no way the Saints can stay with us in this game. They have become essentially one dimensional on offense and are so beat up on defense they cannot stop anybody.

They have been fortunate in their last few wins to play teams very weak on pass defense in the Chargers (ranked 32nd), KC (ranked 27th), Oakland (12th but a lousy football team),and the 49r's (25th).

These teams are a combined 10-30.

My guess is we will score early and a lot putting the Saints in one of those 50+ passing attempt type games which happens to be the strongest part of our game. Pass defense. They racked up over 400 yards passing against Atlanta and lost by two TD's.

I don't think they can stop us running or passing with McKenzie and Grant out along with their other starting CB Porter and with the fact that four DT's have hit the IR list.

Especially since they couldn't defend the pass with those guys in there anyhow.

I look for our highest point total of the year coming up.

So a beating like we gave them a couple years ago? What was that score anyway, 41-3?

I hope you're right... I'm very confident we can win this one too. Let's hope we execute as well as we did last week. Want this one especially because my dad is gonna be there and it'll be his first regular season game since '98.

I like the Saints and Brees. I want to beat them but but I won't enjoy it.
Kind of like when the wife gets out of line. You have to beat her but you don't enjoy it.

Please don't IM me. I'm joking about the wife thing.

I agree with the above posters. Looking at this game on paper, the Saints can't win. They only do one thing well, real well to be fair, but it just so happens to be the thing we prevent equally well.

Grant has averaged 4.3 ypc or better for three straight weeks, two of which were against top 5 run defenses. Throw in our passing game and the Saints poor defense and it could get ugly.

What I see important coming into this game is

A) The Packers just had a statement game against the Bears at home. They roughed up another team, got into a tie for first place in the division and the momentum should just keep rolling into this game.

B) The emergence of Ryan Grant after the bye week. He seems to have gotten that extra burst that was missing at the beginning of the season. The fact that we now may have a run game will help us completely dominate a poor Saint's defense.

C) Best secondary in the league vs (arguably) the best QB in the league in Drew Brees. It's an interesting matchup, but our experienced corners should shut down their wideouts, and with no Reggie Bush in this game it makes it a hell of a lot easier. If Shockey doesn't choose to up his game on Monday night, this could be a terrible outing for Brees.

D) Primetime. This factor is huge. We're talking about two .500 teams that had much higher expectations at the start of the season that slumped a little bit and are now trying to get it together. This is the big stage folks, so it'll be interesting to see how it affects the gameplay of both teams.

With all things considered, I have the Packers winning this game, but I can't predict a score. I have a feeling Drew Brees will end up racking up a lot of passing yards but to no avail.
