Clearly cant hurt assuming they signed him for min or close to it [He's an UFA, but will not cost GB a comp pick, unless deal is over 4M per].
It was a very strange 2016 for Jahri.
In 2015 Jahri missed 5 starts and supposedly didn't play very well in the 11 he started, so in 2016 NO demanded he renegotiate. He refused and NO cut him. He signed a $1M deal w/ Seattle. Seattle has the worst guards in history of the game and he got cut by Seattle. This could only mean 1 thing: Jahri was done.
NO expected Kelemete or Lelito to hold down the job opposite Peat, but neither impressed. So just before start of season NO signed Jahri, who by all accounts played quite well in 2016 and started 16.
In 2017, NO signed Warford from Detroit to pair with Peat so they didn't want Jahri.
One reason Jahri may have been cut it in Seattle is that Wilson would run around for hours and the OLmen need to hold their blocks very long and/or scurry to block someone else while Wilson is running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Conversely, Brees gets rid of the ball fast, so Jahri didn't have to hold his blocks as long w/ NO.
That brings us to Rodgers, who often holds the ball longer than it takes Trump to find his lost armada...ar'maaaa'daaaa. LOL. So Jahri might not make it out of camp w/ GB, and ten we have to wonder if he can last 19-20 games. But, for now it dont hurt.
The other thing that crossed my mind is that Jahri may not be a good practice/preseason guy; but played well when the games counted.
