It's been brilliant so far and to think some believed it was "impossible" to keep 7 WR.

Week after week following final cuts, it was impossible to say whether general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy were right to keep seven receivers on the Green Bay Packers' roster.

Now we finally have the answer: Yes.

No one is suggesting the Packers had a bunch of stars sitting on their bench, but in the team’s 33-32 loss at Atlanta on Sunday, we saw three young receivers who as injury replacements produced under the bright lights of an NFL game: Trevor Davis, Jeff Janis and Geronimo Allison.

That’s not uncommon in the NFL. Sometimes injuries force unproven young players onto the field, and sometimes those players show they can play.

With no RBs to help keep pressure off Aaron I am less than impressed with having 7 WRs.

But yeah, really sucks when your #1 and #2 go down in rapid succession. If we would have kept a third RB on the roster, what sort of talent do you think we would have gotten? Notably better than Knile Davis? Ripkowski isn't going to get it done by himself. He's a bruiser but he needs to be complimented by someone that can hit the hole quickly and possibly make a guy miss.

Next year, if Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy know what's good for them, they'll cater to this team's strengths and keep 10 receivers on the roster. Just go empty backfield on every play and watch Aaron Rodgers play some sandlot football. If this team goes anything less than 18-1, it's a failure.
