It's too bad, we can't easily get Rodgers, Matthews, Shields, Pepper and Cobb maybe taking $1 million less... and then asking WR Torrey Smith to taking a million or two less himself and then the Packers could afford it.

Also your logic doesn't make sense to me... if those 3 aren't going to be here next year... wouldn't it make more sense for Smith to be added? Because their would be more cap room... so easier to add him, therefore that would make it more likely.

Basically it'd be a trade off, dropping those 3 to pick up someone else (such as Smith).

But Bulaga can play... at some point I thought they may have to slide him into OG, but he should be able to play there as he's physical enough, if another/better OT steps up sometime in the future.

The reason I think Matthews is a possible cut is because of the guys we need to resign. You have Tretter and Lang on the Oline. Then you have Datone Jones, who's become a valuable player btw, and Nick Perry. Also, you have to prepare to give Randall and Rollins contract extensions.

The NFL is a business, not a fan favorite keep everybody sport. Tough decisions go with managing a cap, and players that are not performing to their contract amounts become expendable.

Why do you think agents and players try to get as much guaranteed money in their contracts?

Torrey Smith = Bad Deal

Montgomery = Deep Threat ( Provided someone wakes the hell up .)

The 2016 Packers greatest current concern, IMO, is at the RB and the CB positions . In addition, if the advantage this team possess' is not cashed in THIS SEASON , a great window of opportunity will slam shut for the Packers. It may then take as long as 5 years for that window to open again .

Oh well, I was lucky to watch the 96 and 2010 teams. Could be worse, we could be Vikings fans.

I thought he sounded like a good addition to our offense, but that price tag is way too high. There is no way that Ted would match that contract, and for good reason. We already have a few guys that aren't earning their monster paychecks.

I am all for paying to get more talent on the roster, but when you figure that Pittsburgh is paying 10 million for Antonio Brown - you can't justify it. If Smith is due 9+ million per year, he would have to be a touchdown machine.
