I recall a number of years ago we ended up having to start two rookie tackles.

If I recall that didn't turn out to bad.

Of course things aren't going to always work out, but sometimes or even often, they do. The NFL would be easy if it was so black and white, but it's not. The reality of the situation is a team like the Packers and their salary constraints are always going to have to depend on several Lane Taylor types throughout the team. Their performance is a big factor of a teams success.

Where did I say that the Packers absolutely were obligated to do so specifically with Lane Taylor in 2016? I didn't. But while I'll readily admit Taylor isn't as good as Sitton in 2016, he may be as good as the 2017 version of Sitton and ultiimately, I think the Packers can still win with Taylor as long as he is average. If not, the Packers have some other options as well (Tretter, Linsley, Barclay). That's the point. I'm not defending the decision to cut Sitton necessary, I just don't think it's as big of a disaster as others. Especially without knowing all the details as to why Sitton was cut (and there were several reasons).
