When asked about the penalties and whether or not it was attributed to a lack of discipline or focus, he said no.

The man has lost his mind. "I'm not going to apologize for the way we play."

Un. Real.

* On penalties: Have to look at them individually. Presnap and mentals errors are unacceptable. Combative penalties depend on judgement and situations. "We're always going to err on the side of being more aggressive." Doesn't think focus and discipline are the problem. Won't apologize for the penalties.

Wow.

Most penalized team in the NFL may end up staying that way.

This is just about as silly of a comment as Rodgers "shut up" comment earlier this year...

"I'm not going to apologize for the way we play."

Don't apologize.. just fix the silly mistakes.. if we lose the game and played well.. so be it.. that happens.. but when you have opportunities to win the games but silly stupid penalties are killing you.. yes, you better have an answer.

As a stockholder and a person that has personally spent thousands of dollars upon this publicly held team.. that type of comment pisses me off.. it is your job to lead this team and have them playing solid ball. It isn't like this is a one week type of issue.. we are more than half way through the season and most of these guys have at least on full year of playing time under their belt.

Fix it..

Take it for what it is - a press conference. They just lost two straight games in the waning seconds. I don't think McCarthy thinks now is the time to start throwing players and coaches under the bus. They need to rally together to get their confidence up and focus on winning, not on "who sucked more". He's definitely not going to start ripping people to shreds in front of the media, at this point.

I can almost guarantee you his message is different to the team behind closed doors.

Agreed to a point.. but what better stage to put the "whole" team on notice.. that stupidity and lack of focus can't be tolerated.. I don't advocate pulling a Childress and calling out players weekly in defeat..

But to passively address it in a presser.. hmmm not something I like either.

I wonder if there is a reason this team lacks intensity and fire?

He SHOULD call them out publicly.
Make them "man up" or get the hell off the field.
Obviously the other way hasn't worked.

At least he went one whole presser without the "pad level" thingy.
