This was pretty good.

Actually, he’ll be remembered as a guy who
• spent 16 years with the Packers,
• made it to the Super Bowl twice and won it once,
• secured three NFL MVP awards,
• engaged in public angst pretty much every year from 2002 through 2008 regarding whether he’d retire,
• prompted the Packers to use a first-round pick on Favre’s eventual replacement in 2005 due to the annual
• should-I-stay-or-should-I-go? routine,
• took the bait in February 2008 when the Packers pressed Favre for a decision at a time on the calendar when
• they knew he’d be more likely to call it quits,
• decided in July he still wanted to play,
• clumsily tried to force his way back onto the team,
• stubbornly tried to engineer a path to Minnesota,
• eventually accepted a trade to the Jets,
• failed to parlay an 8-3 start in New York into a playoff berth (thanks to a partially torn biceps tendon that the Jets
• were later fined for concealing),
• finally got his chance to stick it to the Packers by joining the Vikings,
• stuck it to the Packers twice in 2009,
• had a third Super Bowl appearance in the bag but for an ill-advised, schoolyard, cross-body, “this is not Detroit!”
throw with the NFC title game tied late and the Vikings in position for a long field goal try,
•
came back for one year too many,
became embroiled in an embarrassing texting controversy that culminated in a $50,000 fine for not being
truthful during the NFL’s investigation,
had his incredibly impressive ironman streak end before his career did,
and then finally called it quits.
That list seems a lot more derogatory than Favre's impressive career deserves. The iron man streak is the most impressive in sports history, especially playing the position that every team schemes to take the player playing out of the game with hits. He didn't mention the cannon of an arm, or all the injuries he played through.

Florio's a douche Vikings fan and pretty much solidified that fact with a bush league attempt at a summation of quarterback that goes down as a legend.

More or less agreed DakotaT. I'm not a very big Burt fan at all. As I've mentioned here before the Jenn Sterger stuff started over a decade before Jenn Sterger.

That said, he did some good. Little 'ole GB became a F.A. destination starting with Reggie because of Burt. The franchise is relevant again thanks to him.

Florio continues to show his desperation ever since his only meaningful source for info, Scheffty, left for ESPN so he's relied on click bait and sophomoric cynicism to attempt to remain relevant. Clearly this was skewed towards the negative to support Florio's narrative and gain an eye ball or two.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
