I want him to be here playing football and not being a celebrity. I’ve given him a hard time already about being on TV and not being a celebrity. It’s football now and it’s time to work. The feel-good story is over.

That was what head coach Mike Zimmer said about German league player, WR Moritz Boehringer. This is exactly how you want to humble a kid who's been plastered all over for simply being German and fast. The only person who could say it better would be Bruce Arians.

We joke a lot about Vikings having no purpose for a trophy case, but I'm thinking this Zimmer guy might make the Vikings moderately relevant for a time coming. I do not think Teddy Bridgewater is the answer at quarterback and that's probably the only thing holding the team back.

Are you over looking for the Vikings or feel the same way?

Long as they have Apete, they'll probably keep running the ball too much.

Cordarell Patterson is the real deal, but he's not a WR. Can't run the routes. They did draft a guy this year though.

Zimmerman is a definite step up from the Meathead and Major Dad type dudes of the recent past.

Zimmerman is an excellent coach. He's one of my favorites in the league. Top 5.

Mike Zimmer is a defensive coordinator, and a very good one, but he's been elevated to his level of incompetency. The Vikings will be our good rival again because they have rebuilt their defense. But their offense is a mess, and has no where near the talent we have.

As long as the Vikings have Adrian Peterson, they are scary.
If you can stop him, you have a good chance to win.
I don't know much else about the Vikings or their coaches.

The Vikings are probably an overall better team than the Packers at this point. But the Packers still have the much better QB, so they should still beat the Vikings. The Packers will need this draft class to be strong to keep pace with the overall talent level, though.

But we are the better team.

It's similar to the situation with Lovey Smith. Great coach, the franchise didn't deserve him.

They are much better with Zimmer, Bridgewater, et al, than what they have been. They've put together a couple of good drafts. It might take this year to develop young players, but by next year they should be a force. Much to my chagrin.
