A week away from the offseason program, Packers must make a decision on longtime vets

I figured Kuhn was done 2-3 years ago. He just keeps on showing up. He sure gets the maximum out of his abilities. But this is probably the end of his run.

I hope they don't try to sign Goode until he has completely rehabbed.

Depends on how Ripkowski has picked up pass pro.

This staff loves Kuhn, for some reason. šŸ¤£

Both have value yet for their roles... Rip is the heir apparent to how they like to leverage a Fullback.

I am guessing that both are resigned... for a pass happy team that puts much on the shoulder of the backs to make reads and pick up protection, Kuhn probably still sticks. That said... ol' Teddy has parted ways with a trusted and productive veteran FB before.. one William Henderson. Still slightly salty that Ted didn't bring him back for a final tour of duty and let him go out his way. šŸ˜‰

I believe Kuhn is still clearly the best blocker of the FB/TE group. Unless Cook or one of the young guys have developed a lot more. And their are certain situations where you need a very good extra blocker (blocking the Bears' DE Peppers with the NFC North title on the line for example). Lacy MIGHT be able to take place for Kuhn on some of that, but Lacy is working on his own issues, and I still don't fully trust a single RB to be healthy and ready to go for 18 games a year, but that might be more on me and seeing RBs get injured WAY too often.

As far as Goode, I think it depends a lot on the new guy. The kickers make it sound like Goode was completely PERFECT, and almost never ever needed to make any adjustments on where he placed the ball. If that's correct (and not just hyping a friend), then that could be an extremely valuable vs needing to make one adjustment per game which could lead to problems. But I don't know how good Goode was, or the new guy, because I don't follow long snappers that closely.

With Goode, his injury may have cost him his job. If the new guy keeps performing well, I would think the Packers would stick with him.

As far as Kuhn, I have NO idea what they will do.

It really depends on where they go schematically this season. If your going to run more 3 and 4 wide with one back then your not keeping 2 FB. Also Kuhn old legs are a liability on ST so unless they decide to still use a lot of heavy formations you could see them part ways. Two cents

Uncle Ted: "Well, Cheesey.....just between you and me, I cut him yesterday. He was pretty upset, as you can imagine."
Cheesey:" So John Kuhn is no longer a Green Bay Packer???"
Ted:"What? Oh...no no no.......I was cutting my sandwich at lunch time, and John came up behind me and startled me. I turned around, with the knife in my hand, and well......you can figure out the rest. Keep this under your hat, will you, Cheese man? I don't want to look like an idiot!"
Cheesey: "Oh, Ted......I doubt this would change anyone's opinion of you either way!"
