On Saturday morning at Ford Field the Ishpeming Hematites won their 3rd Michigan High School Football Championship in 4 years. Ishpeming has been in the Championship game 5 of the last 6 years.
The Hematites have won 5 State Football Championships since the inception of the playoff system in Michigan.
That's right, Ishpeming is the "Title Town" of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Coach Olson has coached the Hematites for 24 years and has one of the highest winning percentages in Michigan High School Athletic Association history.
Kids from all over the area transfer to Ishpeming for a shot at a state championship.
