You are missing a key point: Rodgers is not Cutler/Stafford he is much better so when Rodgers risks a pass is not the same as when Cutler risks a pass. Brady is throwing a lot of passes to WRs that are not completely open and he is not playing as if he were Cutler. The better you are the more chances you have to make something good happen even if nobody is open.

Is not about putting it up for grabs is about not even trying to complete a risky pass because you are afraid of being picked.

First of all I think we can all agree that in a standard 2.5 to 3 second window receivers are generally not going to be THAT open. I hear the stat whoring comments but can't relate when I see a confident Arod repeatedly throwing passes into tight windows generally to a spot only the receiver can catch it.

That has not been happening during this slump and it's not because he has seen more pressure than in the past. If you remember early in the year when JJ was a Godsend he and Arod were connecting on plays where he was in no way wide open and often was very tightly covered.

Arod's normal pin point accuracy has been off and he lacks the confidence to make the throws we are used to seeing him make. It doesn't help that receivers are often not getting at least a step on their guy and when they are open there's too many drops but when you see him miss an open guy I understand why he's not letting it rip in tight coverage. He's off and he knows it and it's in his head when he needs to pull the trigger.

The other thing I see that has to be frustrating for Arod is when he does scramble and buy time the receivers don't seem to have a clue how to find open space so he can get them the ball. I think in this regard they are really missing Nelson who was prolific at making defenses pay once Arod started moving. I also recall Cobb being better when Arod scrambles than he has been this year.

It's a confidence issue right now not helped by the fact time to fix it is running out. So we find out Arod is human and is going thru a rough patch that we haven't had to really experience in the past. The way I look at it is it would be worse if this was the best you could expect to get and Arod and his receivers just aren't any better than this but that's not the case. At least not IMO.

It's a slump. It sucks. Hopefully it ends tomorrow night.

Remember when we were known for WR depth and Jordy Nelson was our 4th best option?
