I'm planning on writing a longer piece at this time, but I'd like to get your thoughts on this topic.
My fear was that Clements was gonna be Aaron's front man and just go along with whatever Aaron wanted to do. It seems to me that, that is what is transpiring to some degree. There was the bugaboo last week about Aaron passing up open guys to look deep. He's still holding the ball for 8+. He's conceding games out of consideration for his stats.
Most importantly to me, the play calling is not setting a tone on offense. There's no tempo, no pulse in these guys. Under Holmgren, you'd see guys marching up to the line all in step with each other. Then they'd all fire out as one unit. These guys seem barely interested most of the time.
I do like the free play thing they've been doing. But we're still wasting too many time outs.
