Without Jordy Nelson, whose torn ACL in the preseason led to Jones signing a one-year minimum deal to return to the Packers after the New York Giants cut him at the end of the preseason, quarterback Aaron Rodgers' numbers have suffered. Rodgers ranks just 14th in the league in passing yards (1,491) despite a league-high 15 touchdowns against only two interceptions.

Rodgers has said several times after recent games that at least part of the problem with the offense, which ran just 49 official plays and had the ball for just 22 of 60 minutes in last Sunday’s win over the Chargers, is that the receivers are having trouble getting open outside the numbers. That allows defenses to focus coverage on Randall Cobb in the slot.

This article is unfair to JJ imo.

Our offense is not predicated on having that one "Megatron" type dude. It is predicated on having greater depth at WR than the other team has at DB. That depth has been eroded due to injuries. Yeah, teams can focus on Cobb in the middle, but Cobb also shit himself 3 times in the last game. That's not JJ's fault. Fact is, Cobb is hurt too. It's part of the depth eradication that is taking its toll on this team.

I look for the offense to bounce back when Davante gets healthy. Don't also under estimate the toll Eddie's injury has had. Yeah, Starks lit it up last game, but if Eddie's healthy, you know the coaching staff would have called more running plays.

Jones saved our season. For a guy essentially on a veteran's minimum deal, his value to date has far out-done what he's being paid. You can't find too many guys who've left in free agency and been gone for more than a year, and then plug them right back in and have them pick up right where they left off. I still scratch my head at both Oakland and New York cutting him. He caught 73 passes last season, so his production never fell off completely like a lot of receivers have once they start hitting north of 30.

Jones performed a lot better than I ever thought he would the first few games. I am thinking he was not 100% health-wise last week. Hopefully the bye week will fix that.

Jones is tied for the NFL WR lead in touchdowns. He's fine. He'll be better when Davante is back.

So glad we got him back - can you imagine what we would have this season if we didnt? Didnt matter what WR we picked up - rodgers wouldnt of had that chemistry.

Title is sort of one of those DUH statements. I think we could use more from every player. I was one of those disappointed to not see him resigned for last year. His performance was well worth a 3mil/yr average, especially with no proven depth behind him. I am fairly certain he would have accepted a slightly smaller team friendly deal to stay. Making Boykin or Adams beat him for the 3rd spot rather than handing it to them.

I would hope they try to bring him back next year again for those same reasons, until the younger guys beat him out, paying him a million or so a year is still a deal.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

beast (23-Feb) : Campbell is right, he's rich and he doesn't have to explain sh!t... but that attitude gives teams reasons to never sign him again.
dfosterf (22-Feb) : I have some doubt about all that
dfosterf (22-Feb) : I read De'Vondre Campbell's tweet this morning (via the New York Post) Florio says that if he invested his earnings wisely, he will be good

Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : It should be halted now.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : usually spambots are trying to get traffic to shady websites filled with spyware; the two links being spammed were to the Packers website
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : you know when you put it that way combined with the links it was spamming (to the official Packers website)
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yep. You can do that with holding down ENTER on a command in Console of browser
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : even with the rapid fire posts?
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : I'm not certain it's a bot.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : I've got to go to work soon which is a pity because I'm enthralled by this battle between the bot and Zero

Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : They got 118 slapped in there.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : that's why it confused the hell out of me
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yeah, but this is taking a headline and slapping it into the Packers Talk
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Wasnt there a time guests could post in the help forum?
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : lol good question, kind of impressed!
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : So how is a guest posting?
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Tell them its an emergency
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Working. Meetings.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Lots of fun; the spam goes back 4 or 5 pages by this point
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : I thought you'd look for yourself and put 2 and 2 together lol. I overestimated ya ;)
