I don't like to take any team for granted, but the Packers should be able to allow some of their key injured players to get a rest and still win this one.

I think the Vikings provided a good blueprint on how to beat these guys. Get a lot of pressure on Rivers and the DBs play up to their talent.

My one concern Antonio Gates and getting exploited over the middle. If we can keep Gates in check I think we should find ourselves at 6-0 going into the bye.

This may be another "pick party". Don't blitz this guy, because like Aaron he can pick you apart.

I think the Steelers problem was they blitzed ALL DAY LONG!!! They weren't mixing it up, so the Chargers figure out it was coming and adjusted. I think if they mixed it up more the Steelers defense would of been even better.

I expect Capers to blitz some early on to try to set a tone, and then back off and see if they can apply pressure without blitzing and if so then let the front guys just go at it... with mixing some blitzing in from time to time but not doing a ton of it unless they're struggling without it.

The Chargers are a good passing team (7th), it's their one and only weapon (run = 24th) so our secondary will be tested for real for the first time in the season. It's specially intriguing to me if we can control the Rivers-Gates combination. You might argue we controlled Graham but Seattle is not using Graham in the same way San Diego uses Gates and the chemistry between Wilson and Graham is close to zero.

The charges have a porous defense, 19 vs the pass and 25 vs the rush. If our offense can't find rhythm at home against San Diego then I will be really worried. I expect Lacy and Starks to work a lot against the Chargers, specially if we can take an early lead.

So it seems we should simple outscore them but careful! We shouldn't fall in our usual "get a lead and then sleep" operation. If we take a lead and force them to pass that's what they do better and they can get close if our defense turns soft.

IMO, the Packers should do well at home against the Chargers. Any concerns will come from their passing game. The Packers Secondary may be put to the test against this ensemble of "electric warriors" .

I agree with Luigis that Leads + Soft Defense's = Bad Football. Ok, bring in an extra CB to better cover extra wide receivers, don't simply give up 10 to 15 yds. chunks of turf. Playing not to loose is a poor way to play football

Packers - 38

Chargers - 24

Here’s an illustration of the SD OL using Packer players.

They break camp w/ Bulaga, Lang, Linsley, Sitton, Baktieri
Barclay, Rotheram, Gerhardt, Taylor, Walker

Rotheram and Taylor are cut and clear waivers [which Taylor would not] and signed to PS

Lang goes on IR; JD Walton is signed off street and Vujonivich who’d been though last 2 camps; but is on the street because no one signed him is signed.

At Monday night in Pittsburgh: Baktieri and Sitton are out; Bulaga and Linsley shift to guard so best 5 can play, left to right its: Walker, Bulaga, Gerhardt, Linsley, Barclay.

Then during the game Barclay goes out and Walker is moved to LT, so it’s: Vujonivich, Bulaga, Gerhardt, Linsley, Walker.

Then during the game Linsley goes out and he’s replaced by JD Walton, so its Vujonivich, Bulaga, Gerhardt, Walton, Walker.

If we played them Monday night, we'd have 50 sacks!

Zero2Cool (5h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (5h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (7h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (8h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (9h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (9h) : Thank you
wpr (9h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (9h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (9h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (9h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (9h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (10h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (10h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (10h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (10h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (10h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
