If you remember in the second exhibition game against the Steelers in 1996, Desmond Howard was limited by injury and when he got on the field returned a punt for 77 yard touchdown which sealed his roster spot.

I've said this earlier in the week (before Ted Thompson mentioned it btw, thanks for reading PackersHome Teddy!) that Jared Abbrederris will return a Punt today and lock up a roster spot.

Who do you have that will have a "lock me up" performance during this evenings Packers Saints game or are you all too chicken doo-doo to put your name to a player?

I am going to go with Rajon Neal at RB or Myles White as the Packers keep 6 wr. I was going to say Hundley but he should be a lock.

BTW I agree with Abby making the team or they wouldn't have kept him around this long.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The logical choice is Abby, although one could say that Monty is the surprise talent of this year's TC. Hundley was a pleasant surprise last week too.

Maybe Vaughters or that one TE with the broken hand, Henry was it? I think he got the cast off recently, so let's see what he can do.

It'd be nice if Barclay or Walker showed something at LT.

If he plays I'll go with James Vaughters. Some other guys I would have went with I think already have spots pretty well locked up like Nate Palmer and Bruce Gaston.

Ordered by confidence level:
James Vaughters
Jared Abbrederis
Lane Taylor
Kennard Backman
Larry Pinkard
John Crockett
Carl Bradford
Joe Thomas
Khyri Thornton

Demitri Goodson was close to a lock for me because of his special teams play and good game at CB against PHI but it looks like he got hurt again so who knows.

I'll stick my neck out and go with Kennard Blackman and Matt Rotheram.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Assuming it's somebody who is not already a lock, I'll go with: Ripkowski.

I think more than one of the young RBs will look good, leaving that issue still in doubt. I think Backman already is pretty much a lock. I think it's Abbrederis and White's job to lose as 5th/6th WR - both are locks unless they stink it up or get hurt. I think Walker is already a lock in the O Line, and I don't really see any of the other question marks stepping up and earning the 8th O Line spot. Gaston is a lock until the suspensions end, so he could stand out and earn a job at that time. Vaughters I like, but I doubt he is spectacular enough to become a lock - hopefully they keep him anyway.

I'm not sure Jared Abbrederris offers the Packers anything we don't see from about five other Wide Receivers on the team. He's just ho-hum receiver and same for punt returns. Packers like Micah Hyde returning punts and also have Ty Montgomery as well. And for receivers you have Cobb, Adams, Montgomery, Janis and White.
