I listened to the radio on the way home and alot of Steeler fans and announcers were crying saying that preseason games are meaningless. If you think about it the Packers starters played 2 series last week and 2 series this week and next week most likely a half and then the last game they won't even see the field.


So they play maybe 4 quarters in the full preseason.

Meaningless for your starters, maybe. Not for the bottom half of your roster. NFL really needs a developmental league.

Sorry I got off my thinking I was going after the fact that the 4 games are needed and the starters never play that much. These games are more for your backups to get valuable game experience in case of injuries and also to evaluate players and see who are practice players and game players.

If the NFL spread out the paychecks to include exhibition, players wouldn't be calling the games meaningless. Paychecks don't start until week one, therefore, that is when "games matter".

It's also $$$ for the franchises, doubt it's being cut.

I almost started a thread about AR and his bitching at the presser yesterday. I get his frustration but his tone certainly appeared to be taking a shot at either MM or the NFL.

Jordy's tear was such a fluke, it could have happened crossing the street (nothing to do with preseason), the Packers are trying to avoid a slow start, $$$, and back ups...all reasons the preseason isn't or shouldn't go anywhere.
