Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

http://www.packershome.com/Home  page! 😎

Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre began musing vaguely about retirement at age 32. Now 31, current Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn't thinking about walking awash in the short term. "Eight,' Rodgers told Peter King of TheMMQB.com regarding the intended remaining duration of his career. Things of this nature are never binding, and the numbers tend...

btw, Aaron didn't even say he wanted to play eight more years. Aaron was correcting Peter King when he said "eight". Why people don't actually read the source instead of just jump at headlines is baffling.

The article Mike Florio referenced was Peter King talking about the combined years of the Packers having Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers as starting QB's being 30 seasons if Aaron plays four or five more. That's when Aaron said "eight", meaning the three seasons he was on the bench do not count. Currently the combined starting seasons between them is 16 + 7 = 23 so actually Aaron needs seven more seasons for the Packers to reach 30 seasons between the two.

Even if he had meant "I want to play for eight more years", it would mean nothing to me. That's a looonnnggg time, opinions and goals change.

He can say, 8, 10, or UserPostedImage more years I don't care.

Of the many complaints I have against Burt, one of the biggest was his annual "I want people to prove how much they love me, so I'll threaten my retirement every offseason to get ESPN to drool over me" shtick. 🇦🇷 isn't doing that, thank goodness!

I'm extremely disappointed in you, Z2C. For all your hullabalo about formatting quotes from articles, and where you have practice squad rules and regs stashed on this website, you have absolutely no icon/shortcut for 3.14159265359. What kind of bush-league show are you running here?

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
