Or Wayne might come in and be the #4 as he has declined from his elite play and Adams play well even well he seemed to be off the page with Rodgers, if he got and stayed on the same page Adams as a #3 might be scary or he might be 2b or something.

Janis has a lot of physical potential and Abbrederis looked like a complete natural before getting hurt last year and has great quickness. If you use them to their strength they have a lot of physical potential.

You are also right that he may not be able to beat out Janis and Abbredaris. My whole point was that if they did bring him in and he beat out either or both of those guys by performing better I would feel better about the depth (given his experience) than I would if they didn't bring him in at all and Janis and or Abbredaris made the roster. If they did take a look and he couldn't beat out either one then I'm fine with that.

My whole premise is based on the best guys making the team and not because of their past performance but rather their present ability.

Im not really buying it. Wayne doesnt really make much sense. If were bringing in a vet it may as well be james jones.

I agree with this. James Jones makes more sense.

How about to keep him from signing in Seattle?

The top three WR are going to be Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams so that makes me wonder what role a Reggie Wayne would have. The 4th, 5th and if there is one, 6th WR are usually special steam contributors.

Wayne won't be contributing on special teams.

Does this interest mean Packers doing due diligence or is there legitimate worries about Nelson's recovery?

I think that Ty Montgomery is going to be a lock for the 4th spot and I can see Jared Abberderis and Jeff Janis rounding out the 5th and 6th. I don't see any room for a near 40 year old WR. Also, if they were to bring someone in, like steveishere said, I would think James Jones is more beneficial to the Packers than Wayne.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but current salary cap could be used for extensions (e.g. Daniels) so this would be a waste that way, and as Zero mentioned I don't see him making relevant contributions to ST as a 4th-6th WR would need to.

Even if this is an indication that Jordy is hurt, in what ways does Reggie replace Jordy? His speed? I don't see any way that this makes sense.

Anyone know if Jared Abbederis is 100%? Maybe the Packers are figuring him to land on the PUP and that would make sense to bring in a veteran. Why Reggie Wayne and not James Jones? I suppose they already know Jones well enough so they don't need to make inquiring calls.
