First, it's your...not you're. I can teach on more than just football. 20 years in media and your? C'mon, man. 😁

Go read my original point. I do like to respond to silly subject line posts.

I invited you, Buck, to go re-read what you wrote about our org while Cobb negotiations were on going. What did you do back then? Praise our management for sticking to their number and you were resigned to the idea Randall would be leaving as our org, who rightfully so to you, wouldn't be budging off their set number.

Fast forward to after Cobb signed his deal...here comes a post with all kinds of celebratory language from you starting off...That's how you sign a guy for 40 million and then conclude it with that's why our GM is the best. What an absolute joke. You were praising him for not budging...then he budges and you praise him even more. You are nothing but shifting sands that is going to praise regardless of what happens. You will notice I'm not like you at all...I said the same stuff then as I said now. We overspent to keep him...I was happy we kept him as I said we had to keep him and paying more to do so had to be done. After I saw what we spent, I was very disappointed in how much we spent because it should've NEVER come to that.

Have fun with your "you said 5 million"... run with it! I did say that...and I do believe it. I have no source and never said I did. Randall's comments about not wanting an extension because he didn't deserve one is a direct reflection of receiving an insulting contract offer. He was right...he did not deserve a crappy offer from our org. He is and was a budding star who knew he was worth so much more and was going to prove to us and the other 31 teams he was. RC said his contract situation really bothered him at the beginning of last season. Why would he say that? Why? If he was so freaking comfortable without one why did he say his play suffered and he was focused too much on his contract? Wake up. All of you... wake up. You can continue hating me but I'm right about this. I couldn't be more right. Our org didn't offer him a respectable deal. He didn't need anywhere near a 10 million dollar deal to sign but because or org CHOSE not to value him properly it had to pay more than it wanted to...TWICE...once after the 2013 season and then after it made it's offer after 2014 that still wasn't enough. It's a good thing Randall really seems to like Green bay or he would've just walked out of principle.

Randall wanted a contract...his own quotes prove that he was bothered about his contract situation...or org failed to step up and offer him a fair deal to end all of that for him. He should be signed and for a lot less than he is right now but continue the fantasy that our org did such masterful job and won free agency because we're just the best run org on the planet. The charade is cute if not maddening to watch play out here.

Agent says, no way kid. If you have just an average season this year you will make that much on the open market. Go out and play up to your potential you might get $12 million. You can't sign a contract right now, you have no bargaining power.

--- I just want to say that you know the Packers offered him a contract, right? You seem to imply in your post that we did BUT... it was REJECTED by RANDALL. Why was it rejected? It was a joke of an offer for what he can provide a team. So, what NEEDED to happen for him to sign? A VERY GOOD OFFER so it would keep him off the open market so we didn't have to pay even more. We weren't comfortable giving him a big contract BECAUSE of the broken leg. We wanted to "waiit and see"... we shouldn't have needed to wait and see. We should've just given him a very good offer whereby he signs and we get a star for a lot less than the 31 FA market dictated to us.

There is no real personal issue with Ted Thompson from my perspective. I've said this so many times but I'll say it again... my issue is somewhat with him for not maximizing having the greatest QB of all time on his roster and leaving a defense barren of talent while he ticks into his 30's. My bigger problem is with fans who have deified this guy into an almost infallible being. Shoot, I posted links and commented on what one poster did here. Praised our GM for sticking to his guns and then when our GM didn't stick to his guns he got praised even more by the same poster. Our GM is some god to him and many others all because we win the division year after year in a very weak division where we have the greatest QB of all time. We SHOULD win the division and we should be in SB's quite often but we routinely go out in the playoffs. I find that the fault of our management who has failed to provide enough defensive talent to get us there again. How many squandered 1st round defensive picks does he get to make before he's no longer seen as a god? It seems there is no limit there. I see him one way and most others see him 180 from how I do. When I ask the questions about the D there is never an answer. Why does our GM continually suck at building a defense? Isn't that just as important as the offense? Most of you would cite the ridiculous phrase defense wins championships... our guy can't build one. Yet, he's a stellar drafter and the top or one of the top GM's in the game because we win the division every year. Good has been turned into words like stellar, great, awesome, the best. He does a nice job on some things and he's not so good in some others...overall he's a little bit better than he is awful. Taking it to this topic... we pay Bulaga and Cobb about 17 million per average for both... and our GM is praised as having the best offseason and just doing awesome work on those two? How? Why? Both could've been had for a lot less than they were. We waited them out and paid millions more. That's a loss. Not a win.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

wpr (12h) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move

Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
