Why couldn't I have Doug as a teacher in High School? Doesn't look like any team graded lower than a C.

Green Bay Packers: B+

With many needs in their secondary, the Packers chose wisely with the 30th pick. Arizona State free safety Damarious Randall is the prototype at the position in that he can cover deep and come down to tackle. It shouldn't be surprising that he went before Alabama's Landon Collins, who some saw as the best safety on the board. Randall has a better-developed skill set. In the second round, Green Bay picked up Quinten Rollins of Miami (Ohio), one of the more underrated cornerbacks in this class, who probably projects as a slot man at the next level. Third-round receiver Ty Montgomery of Stanford can line up all over the formation, a great fit for Mike McCarthy's multiple offensive schemes. He needs to work on his route development, but he'll get that where he's going. The fifth-round selection of UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley is an interesting one. Hundley passes all the athletic tests, and he's got great mechanics, but he's a couple of years away from being a complete player at the position. Could he be Aaron Rodgers's ultimate backup in time?—DF

I feel like I've seen a number of draft grades and analysis that exclusively talk about Randall as a safety and compare him to Collins. Did none of these guys pay attention that we drafted him to play corner and that evidently most scouts that talked with Randall told him he projected as a corner?

I'll say incomplete. Let's revisit in 2-3 years. 😝

WHO SHOULD TED THOMPSON HAD DRAFTED?

That's a pretty simple question.

Hard to grade any team on there draft until players actually play.

Somebody explain to me how the seemingly mild-mannered Smokey became the new uffda udfa - full of mostly irrational hate for Ted Thompson and generally negative about the Packers, and how this happened at the same time uffda udfa apparently stopped posting.

While "incomplete", as stated above obviously is the best answer, I concur with the "B+" for value in the present, with the potential to up the grade to a solid "A".

Id really prefer corners that were taller; ie same reason the bears are drafting/FAing taller wideouts - because they make smaller corners look foolish.

Im not totally thrilled about our 1st and 2nd round picks; I know we drafted a 6' something corner~ or safety in the UDFA so at least thats something.

Even thou Im not totally doom and gloom like smokey ... Im not all 'excited' about our 1st and 2nd round guys - and ya there were a ton of picks that we could of taken.
ie our TEs are subpar ... we got anyone above 6'3 thats decent?
some good OLBers on the board in the 1st round we could of grabbed ...

But we didnt pick any of those - we picked the 2 corner/safes ... so well have to see how they stack up against chicagos above 6' squad
