The play: The botched onside kick recovery in the fourth quarter.
Why it mattered: Everything else that happened -- from the fact that the Packers couldn't punch the ball in the end zone in the first quarter in a pair of goal-line situations and settled for field goals, to the fake field goal the Seahawks pulled off for a touchdown in the third quarter, to coach Mike McCarthy's conservative play-calling with the lead in the fourth quarter, to Peppers' signal to Morgan Burnett to take a knee after his interception that he could have returned deep into Seattle territory -- none of it would have mattered had the Packers been able to secure the Seahawks' onside kick with 2:09 remaining in the fourth quarter. But it all went awry when backup tight end Brandon Bostick tried to catch the ball rather than block like he was supposed to in order to allow sure-handed receiver Nelson to secure the ball.
