It occurred to me the other day that the Packers have had a lot of heartbreak in the playoffs. Many of their losses were close and involved collapses.

Does this top the list? Is it bigger than Super Bowl XXXII and the ‘07 NFC Championship?

I compiled a list of games and wrote a lengthy article at Row12. You can check that out here: http://www.row12.com/article/2817/The_Playoffs_Heartbreak_and_the_Green_Bay_Packers/

In short, I'm not sure we're ever going to get over this one. I moved on from Super Bowl XXXII and the '07 NFC title game. Those were tough defeats, but you can argue the Packers weren't the better team on those days. They clearly played better than Seattle did last Sunday. The best comparison I can think of is 4th and 26.

What do you guys think? How does this one stack up?

I think this past Sunday has to be the worst of the lot. I was actually surprised that the announcers did not announce the Packers going to the Superbowl after the INT. It is mindboggling how many things went wrong after that point. I was even thinking about the shitty punt and how with that field position how masthay only got it to the 30 yard line. That should have been an inside the 20 easily or at least to the 20 punting it through the endzone.

This is so fresh that it's tough to fairly compare. T.O's catch was tough due to that and Rice's fumble that drive. 4th and 26 was another collapse with missed pics in the endzone later that drive and Burt reverting to bad Burt mode in OT. I think those 2 compare more so to Sunday since the Packers had control of the games opposed to the Denver SB and 2007 where I feel like the Pack were outplayed.

Could be a cross roads for the franchise.

I hope it's not, but I kind of feel like it is.

This hurts the worst for me because the Packers had it won handily or so it seemed.
I think it's time for change in the organization.
There has just been too many of these playoff debacles over the last decade.
The career of the finest QB in the league is being squandered.

To me it hurt bad the 1st day but I got over it mainly because it has happened so much lately. I mean look at it 15-1 and we are 1 and done, last year 1 and done. 2 years ago we won against a qb that is a wide receiver with the Vikes and then got beat once again by the 49ers. we did win in 2010 when everything fell into place somehow for us. But 09 we had a collapse against a 9-7 team and once again 1 and done.

We pretty much suck when we get to the playoffs even going back into the Favre years. We are a great regular season team but take away the 2010 season and we really suck in the playoffs lol. 2-5 is pretty bad and 1 of the wins was by default lol.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

True dat.
Last season, with Rodgers hurt and coming back at the end, i didn't really expect them to do anything in the playoffs.
But this year? Everything seemed to fall into place, and then they pull a "Vikings" at the end of the NFC title game and throw away all their hard work of the season.
Just frustrating.
Once the SB is over, maybe I'll feel better. But right now, it still is hard to think about.
Imagine how the players must feel right now.

2009 vs the cardinals scarred me for months. Neither defense could stop the other, a high-adrenaline game the entire time. Playing from behind but then the defense squeaks out a stop and all of a sudden we go into overtime and win the cointoss. With the way the game's going, flying high. Almost get a TD right off the bat.

Then Rodgers gets tackled by his facemask, fumble, TD. Like getting shot at your wedding.

This year? Everyone said we were going to lose beforehand, not a big enough lead at the half to make me not-nervous, and once the onside kick was recovered I began the acceptance phase.

This game takes it easily as the worse. This game was totally different from the other games. We had a 2 score lead with 5 mins left and DOMINATING them all game long. It wasnt a game where last team with the ball wins or one score can change the out come. NO! this was a game where we had it all but wrapped up. This game will be remember as one of the biggest choke jobs in NFL history. I still cant stomach this loss.

+3 turn over ratio
5 sacks
4 INT's
held there offense in check for 55 mins...

^ if u told me this would happen prior to the game,im booking our trip to the SB.

but then 15 points in 44 seconds!?!?!? WHAT??? Two fluke plays in the same series won them the game. I mean what are the chances of that shit happening? If the NFL was rigged, this game would be a damn good example

Zero2Cool (37m) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (1h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (15h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (15h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
