I don’t think there is a bigger critic of Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers than me. I’ve been on record as saying that I thought Capers should have been fired two seasons ago, as well as claiming he is the problem with this current team's record. But one thing I will not

Shit or get off the pot, Dom.

I think he makes himself look good today. Not to jinx him of course.

Whatever happens today is not going to change anything, all the hype will be over with when the game starts, then next week there will be another "Big Game".

It's time for people to stop this stupid crap about getting rid of Capers. The Packers defense is as decent as it is not in spite of Capers but BECAUSE of Capers. That was never more true than today; We did not have the personnel to line up and stop Brady and the Patriots, but schemes did it, and when the Pats adjusted to the early game schemes, Capers had a second set to defeat them. Congratulations, Dom, for keeping New England down just enough on a day when our offense was good but not quite great.

I go back and forth on Capers, but I will say that aside from a lot of blown opportunities to get him the RBs down behind the LOS, they played pretty well against the pass, got some pressure, and looked pretty good. As Ketchman would say, players not plays.

I've slammed Dom Capers many times, but I'll give him credit for this win. The Packers defense played pretty well today. The Packers have some talent on defense, so they should play pretty good pretty often. However, this game or this season still doesn't make up for the historical defensive failures that have occurred the past few seasons. As far as I'm concerned, Dom still has to prove himself when it matters most, in the playoffs. His unit cannot get lit up again in the playoffs.

For those who have called for and may still call for him to be fired. I ask a simple question. What is he doing wrong? What should he have done different? And I am not sure anybody has been able to give me an answer.

The only reason I have ever had for replacing Dom is wanting to go back to the 4-3 which I believed and still believe our personnel fit better. Dom doesn't make players miss tackles, and blow assignments, and fail to get pressure on opposing team QBs.

Now that Mike has been spending some time on that side of the ball, we are seeing some improvement. Clay has been moved inside. Hawk is on the bench. Barrington is getting his shot. Datone is on the field. Shit like that.

I will also note that The Pats had a 5.8 yard rushing average in this game. This new philosophy of "only defend the pass" might just have some merit. After all, that's a pretty good per carry average, but we still won.
