Finally a Badgers game was over the air and I got to watch. Melvin Gordon is a monster.

The Wisconsin Badgers do create some great college running backs and Melvin Gordon may be the best of the 3 aforementioned.
The Wisconsin OL over the years deserve much credit as well.
I would like to transplant the entire offensive line to Green Bay. We would be better off.
Or perhaps just the offensive line coach.

II

Melvin Gordon, the Wisconsin running back, rushed for 359 yards Saturday … in two quarters. That was one wacky game the Heisman candidate had against Nebraska. Quarter by quarter, how Gordon set the single-season college football rushing record on a snowy Saturday in Madison:

Quarter Carries Yards Average per rush TD
1 6 49 8.2 0
2 10 189 18.9 1
3 9 170 18.9 3
4 - - - -
TOTAL 25 408 16.3 4

III

Three times in 11 weeks this season has an NFL back rushed for at least 170 yards in a game—Rashad Jennings of the Giants (176 in Week 3), Mark Ingram of the Saints (172 in Week 😎 and Jonas Gray of the Patriots (199 in Week 11).

Gordon did it twice Saturday, in two separate quarters.

Wisconsin has quietly become an offensive line factory as well. With the exception of Joe Thomas, the Badgers don't have the blue chip talent, but they certainly turn out quality serviceable lineman. I've missed Mark Tauscher for years.

I was watching the Houston Texans game yesterday against Cleveland, and I was shocked to see J.J. Watt get pancaked - by Joe Thomas.

We're really blessed. Counting the Packers and the Badgers, we have the world's greatest QB, the best NFL defensive player, possibly the best offensive lineman, and currently the best running back anywhere in football - Gordon, not Lacy, although Lacy might be second. Running Back U also has at least two QBs on NFL rosters and a few DBs. Deanddre Levy is also a pretty good player.

I go back about 60 years, and Melvin Gordon is better than any RB I've ever seen other than Jim Brown and O.J. Simpson. That includes Payton, Emmett Smith, Barry Sanders, and Gale Sayers. He runs a lot like O.J. - I think he doesn't CUT as good though hahahaha.
