The key to that game and the key to the season moving forward was that the Packers came out passing - passing first to set up the run - NOT this run first crap that so many are pushing, and McCarthy himself seems to wish for. Hell no! Not with this O Line; Not with Lacy - who powerful and good as he is in his own way, just ain't a breakaway back. Every 3-5 yard run merely takes away an opportunity for Aaron Rodgers to do something better. Even a 10 or 15 yard run - which is just about the limit for Lacy - is no more than a run of the mill Rodgers pass play. And the risk of a fumble - did you see the way those Bears were clawing at the ball and how Lacy had it out away from his body? - is IMO a lot greater than Rodgers throwing a very rare interception. Ideally, we would have an O Line that could actually block - either pass block or run block, but we basically don't. Aaron Rodgers, however, has proven for years now that he can succeed without great blocking - passing on the run, scrambling and either hitting his receiver or getting a first down himself. THAT is what we did the first couple of series against the Bears; THAT is what we NEED to do - let Aaron be Aaron. Forget the stupid run first crap.
