PFT

1. Seattle Seahawks (No. 1 last week; 1-1): They lost in San Diego. I guess that means they now suck. And they’ll suck just enough to win the Super Bowl again.

2. Denver Broncos (No. 2; 2-0): With the No. 1 team on the docket for Week Three, the opportunity is there to not lose by 35 points.

3. New England Patriots (No. 4; 1-1): Cries of “the Pats are done” became “the Pats done kicked Minnesota’s ass” on Sunday.

4. Green Bay Packers (No. 3; 1-1): They lose a spot for flirting for too long with a lesser team, but the Packers are still a top-five franchise.

Kind of surprised we were ranked that high. I guess we're still highly thought of. If we didn't shit ourselves v Seattle, we'd probly be at #1 and they'd be 0-2.

How many teams are definitively better than the Packers? I see anywhere from 3-5, at most, with a couple that could go either way. That doesn't mean the Packers won't win the Super Bowl, but they are a pretty good team.

Are the Packers #4, not quite.

The way is stands after two games, strictly based on performance, I would put the Packers at about #8.
And for now, the Broncos should be ahead of the Seahawks.

Not definitively. The Eagles and Ravens? It could go either way, but if the Packers played anywhere close to their potential, they can beat both of those teams. Also, if we are strictly talking about the first two weeks, the Patriots didn't look good in week 1, the 49'ers didn't look so great in week 2 (Kaepernick especially looked bad), and even the Seahawks didn't look very good against the Chargers, who aren't exactly a defensive juggernaut. The Packers are a better team than they have showed the first two weeks. I think many would agree with that. Obviously PFT does. The Packers usually start pretty slow under Mike McCarthy, but they generally show improvement. I think the Packers team is closer to the team that played the last 2.5 quarters against the Jets than the first six quarters. The defense isn't going to be very good, but the offense will likely end up near the top of the league again, especially once Eddie Lacy gets going (which he should).
