GREEN BAY, Wis. -- There are two ways to look at a comeback win like the one the Green Bay Packers pulled off Sunday against the New York Jets.

Coaches and players alike can be lauded for their resiliency and, as coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers both said following their 31-24 victory that came after they faced an 18-point deficit, their grit.

Or they can see through temporary camouflage of elation and figure out how to prevent the problems from returning.

Rob Demovsky  wrote:

Capers' new-look 4-3 defense -- the one the Packers practiced but never showed during the preseason -- once again had problems, both in matchups and execution. On their first three possessions, the Jets had 180 yards, three touchdowns and a 21-3 lead. For the second straight week, Capers had to adjust on the fly after breakdowns early.

This is my biggest criticism of Mike. Call it lulls, or whatever you want. But they always play down to their competition. Rarely do they just go out and kick some ass, they always have to create adversity for themselves.

You're not going to dominate for 60 minutes. Saints are 0-2 against below .500 teams from last year. Seahawks just lost to an 8-8 team from 2013. 49ers blew a 17 point lead to the Bears AT HOME. These are 3 of the favorites in the NFC. Are they not playing down to their competition? Are they avoiding "lulls?"

What? No way!

Once we got into a rhythm, we got to calling some pretty good stuff and it began to work. It wasn't rocket science. We just called some basic stuff and went out there and executed.

We shit ourselves against team that suck too, like the Jets. And we do so consistently.

I'm not excusing aspects of how the Packers played by any stretch, but I also don't hold on to unattainable expectations that the Packers or any team will play a perfect 60 minutes 19 games a year, or avoid "shitting themselves."

It's one thing to lose a game early in the year. Every year there are surprise teams that suck, who were good the previous year. But this team has consistently played down to it's competition for a decade now.

They've consistenly sucked shit early in the year.

I agree, the cute stuff needs to stop.

Play vanilla, beat the man across from you.

That's how I like it.
